quick trip to oregon

because we were already on the west coast, we figured we might as well swing up to oregon to see the wilson's.  family time is good time.  josh and nicole drove up with devo, their pup, and josh and charlotte were kind enough to let us monopolize asher for most of the visit.  not sure how i ended up with so few photos from this jaunt, but here some photos from the coast.  oregon, you're such a pretty lady.  until next time.

swaz and sara tie the knot

austin salzwadel (aka "swaz") married sara - an angel, on the 21st of july.  we flew to california for the second time this summer the wedding festivities.

our first stop after we picked up the rental car was in-n-out burger.  two dollars for a burger! give me ten! ;)  jeremy dropped me off with devaun in huntington and he continued down to san clemente for a boy party leading up to the wedding on sunday.  it was so great to spend time with devaun in her new element.  i love her to pieces.

another treat from this quick trip: spending an afternoon with peri who was vacation in california with friends.  there is nothing better than a sister.

the day i met austin salzwadel (aka swaz) was the day i knew i loved jeremy wilson.  austin brings out the coolest parts of jeremy and if we're being real, austin is probably the coolest person i know.
when i met sara it was almost a joke (the most funny and sincere joke...).  they're so perfect for each other, it's nuts.  she's charming and quick and incredibly kind, i love her.

so grateful for our friends.  we have some real winners.

san jose

the woodlands left us in provo one year too soon when david was offered a job in san jose.  awesome for them...so so sad for us.  after a long year without the woodlands, we decided a visit was long overdue.
i'm horrible at documenting things...but we had the best time lounging around with these three.
let's not wait another year until it happens again, guys.

paris-the end

on our last night in paris-in europe!-we took a river cruise.  the adorable gal at the ticket office told us that the ride was best at 9pm.  she was right! obviously!

i can't think of a better way to cap off the trip...

three weeks wandering around abroad with my boy was the best thing that i've done in my twenty three years.

paris part 3

while in paris, we purchased the museum pass for two musum filled days.  one of our days was used and versailles and the other...was a straight up marathon.  grandpa pape was not very happy with us when we ran into him at the louvre in the afternoon and he found out that we had just come from the orangerie and that we were headed to orsay next.  oops.  that man is a treasure, i'm telling you.  we learned so many things from good ol grandpa pape.

this was jeremy's face when he turned around to tell me "it really is as small as you said it was going to be!"

this is the part of the afternoon where i started to go a little museum crazy...or maybe i was lamenting about my green pant/jacket combo for the 4th or 10th day in a row?

going nuts: jeremy style.  right before we went into l'hopital des invalides/war museum.

napoleon is buried in this beautiful building! in five coffins!

are you seeing what i saw here?  or was i just going a little nuts at our last museum of the day?

and finally, the best view of paris, in my opinion.  at the top of the arc de triomph.

paris part 2

instead of taking the elevator to the tip top of le tour eiffel, we decided to huff it up to the second level.
boy was that hike good for our bums- TOO MANY CREPES!

voila! the peak of jeremy's very strange neck beard!

notre dame!

walking paris is the best/only way to see the city in all of it's glory...in my opinion.

versailles

the pape residence is only about ten miles from the largest palace in the world.  in fact, the hunting gardens of the palace double as the park the pape's take their dog to play.  not bad, eh?

remember how we got soaked in milan because SOMEBODY forgot the umbrella?  well, i'm not going to name any names (it wasn't me), but that same person (not me) forgot the umbrella on this day, too.
and would you look at those clouds?

yeah.

hey, at least our bellies were full while we ran from tree to tree seeking shelter from the HAIL!
at one point, we took cover in a souvenir shop with a bunch of first grade-looking students.  i made a joke to jeremy about the kids spending their lunch money in the shop out of boredom and what do you know?  fifteen minutes later i found a ring for peri and found myself at the end of a very long line of little people buying up all of the pencils and chocolates in the shape of a palaces their lunch money could buy.

it was so great.

thumbs up i'm soaked and that wallpaper's cool!

marie antoinette's hamlet was so incredible, it had jeremy and i running around like fools.
THERE WAS EVEN A POTBELLY PIG.
AND GOATS.

incredible.
