lake como

we left milan SUPER early and huffed it at least two miles to the train station.
training usually looked like this:

lots of dramatic serenading (silently) and eavesdropping on fellow passengers (aka i made jeremy translate everything every person was saying).

our hotel in Varenna was the best.  (and don't take that lightly, even though everything about this trip has probably been labeled "the best")  it was located above a quaint bar that was filled with locals.  the night we were there, there was a big soccer game going on and the place was PACKED.  when we were coming in that night it was silent... apparently the local favorite lost... wahhwahhh.

our room over looked the lake and OBVIOUSLY needed a "thumbs up" photo to show just how pumped we were.
hello.  my name is estee and i have declared lake como to be the MOST BEAUTIFUL PLACE IN THE WORLD.

we paid just under a million dollars (or so it seemed on our less than a shoe string budget) to take a tour through this villa and the gardens around it.   WORTH IT.  this is the villa from star wars epidode 1 (or was it 2?) and one of the james bond movies...yada yada...that's not really important.  what IS important is that the last owner of the villa was a mega baller in the 80s and has a norwal tusk hanging in his den.  yeah.

i've said it once and i'll say it again:  LAKE COMO IS THE MOST BEAUTIFUL PLACE IN THE WORLD.
